João Maciel

João graduated from the University of Lisbon with a Masters Degree in Law and Economics and subsequently began his career as a tax consultant. In his time as a tax consultant João plied his trade with two of the Big4 advisory firms.

João started his recruitment career in 2014 with a well known global recruitment company and spent the following 10 years specializing in the recruitment of Legal, Compliance and Tax professionals supporting customers and managing teams across Europe, South America and Asia.

João is passionate about the Legal, Compliance and Tax community, the continued growth of the industry, the commitment in service to his customers and ensuring that there is value, transparency and integrity in what he delivers. With that commitment and aim of doing things differently, he launched MACI in 2024.
